When should you book your wedding band?

Timing and availabilityOne booking per date

Book your wedding band as soon as you have your date and your venue, ideally twelve to eighteen months ahead. Good bands take only one booking per date, so popular Saturdays in summer go first, often more than a year out. If your date is sooner than that, it is still worth asking, since cancellations and gaps happen all the time.

How far ahead do bands get booked?

Most couples book their band somewhere between a year and eighteen months before the wedding. For a peak-season Saturday, a July or August date in particular, the best bands can be gone eighteen months to two years out. Off-peak dates and weekdays stay open longer, though the popular bands still fill up.

Why the best dates go first

A real band can only play one wedding a day. There is no second team, no franchise, just the one group of musicians. That is exactly what you want, the band you saw is the band you get. It also means every Saturday is a single slot. Once it is taken it is gone, so the earlier you ask the better your odds.

What if your date is soon?

Do not assume it is too late. Dates open up, plans change and not every couple books a year ahead. If your wedding is only a few months away, send your date anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can do it. The worst case is a quick no. The best case is the band sorted in a day.

What you need before you book

You do not need everything finalised. To check availability and hold a date, all you really need is your date and your venue, plus a rough idea of the kind of night you want. We can shape the lineup and the extras with you after that.

How booking works with us

When your date is free, a deposit and a signed contract lock it in. From there you deal with Jesse the whole way through. We stay in touch right up to the day, so nothing is left to the last minute. You can see the full three-step process on the home page.

Have your date?

Send it over and we will tell you within a day whether we are free. No obligation, just a clear answer.

When to book: common questions

How far in advance should you book a wedding band?

As soon as you have your date and venue, ideally twelve to eighteen months ahead. Peak summer Saturdays can go even earlier, sometimes two years out.

Can you book a wedding band last minute?

Often, yes. Dates open up and plans change, so a band can have a gap even at short notice. Send your date and you will get a quick yes or no.

Do wedding bands play more than one wedding a day?

A real band plays one wedding a day. The group you book is the group that turns up, which is exactly why each date is a single slot worth securing early.

When do summer wedding dates book out?

Saturdays in June, July and August are the first to go, often twelve to twenty-four months ahead. If you are marrying in peak season, book your band as early as you can.
